More Orders, Higher Earnings – Uber Eats Cash Orders Are Here!
Good news for all Uber Eats couriers! A new feature is launching soon that can significantly boost your earnings – the ability to fulfill orders paid with cash on delivery.
Thanks to this change, you’ll get more orders because customers who prefer to pay cash can also use the app. It’s a simple mechanism: the customer pays you in cash directly upon delivery, and you keep that amount. Everything is automatically reconciled in the app.
Below you’ll find a complete guide on how the new cash payments work, how to recognize them, how to settle them, and what to do in case of problems.
How Do Cash Orders Work in Uber Eats?
The basic rule: the customer pays for the order in cash directly to the courier upon delivery. The amount received stays with you and is automatically included in your settlements in the app.
How does it work in practice?
Aspect
Detail
Who pays
The customer pays the courier in cash upon delivery
Where does the cash go
The cash stays with the courier, it is NOT given to the restaurant
Settlement
Subsequent payouts for cashless orders are reduced by the cash collected
Condition
The courier must have a positive earnings balance covering the value of the cash
Settlement example: If you collect 200 PLN in cash from customers, your next payment for deliveries will be reduced by that amount.
Restrictions: When Can You Receive Cash Orders?
Not every courier can automatically receive cash orders. Uber Eats has introduced an important safeguard:
A courier can only receive cash orders if they have a positive earnings balance equal to or greater than the cash amount from the customer.
Why is this important?
This solution prevents a negative earnings balance at the end of a settlement period. This means: if you have 150 PLN in earnings, the maximum amount of cash you can receive from customers is 150 PLN.
