A major change awaits Polish fans of convenient shopping. Biedronka and Uber Eats have officially announced their partnership. What does this mean for you? Orders from the most popular supermarket chain in Poland can now reach you in just 30 minutes. This news is especially important for those who value quick “right now” shopping—without waiting in lines or carrying heavy bags.
In short: if until now you used Uber Eats mainly for ordering food, the platform has now also become a convenient place for quick shopping from a popular supermarket chain. This means more options to choose from, greater availability, and fewer last-minute “emergency” trips to the store.

Pilot launched – where can you already order?
The program has not been launched across all of Poland at once. Instead, this collaboration chose a cautious approach, starting in the three largest cities:
- Warsaw – delivery available in Mokotów
- Kraków – city center and Kazimierz district
- Poznań – Łacina and Grunwald districts
Katowice will soon join this group.
How does it work in practice? (step by step)
Although details may vary by location, the ordering process in Uber Eats is generally simple:
- You open the Uber Eats app.
- You select the store (Biedronka), if it’s available in your area.
- You add products to your cart (just like in a classic food order).
- You pay for your order and wait for the delivery.
It’s worth remembering that the availability of the service may be introduced gradually – starting in selected locations, and expanding later.
When is this kind of delivery most worthwhile?
Having groceries delivered from a supermarket via a “quick delivery” platform makes sense, especially in these situations:
- “I forgot to buy…” – sudden shortages in the fridge.
- Quick shopping “for today” before a meeting, house party, or the weekend.
- When you don’t have a car and the store is far away.
- When the weather isn’t inviting (rain, snow, heat).
- When time matters to you more than personally picking every single product.

Ambitious expansion plans
What’s interesting is the scale of the planned service expansion. By the end of this year, about 20 stores are to be included in the program. However, that’s just the beginning – the target is to reach about 40 locations spread across the five largest metropolitan areas in Poland.
In the first half of next year, this collaboration plan to launch several hundred stores across Poland. Ultimately, the service is to be available wherever the Uber Eats platform operates. This means that in the future, you’ll be able to order from Biedronka almost anywhere in the country.
The same prices as in store
Pricing is always a hot topic for consumers. Good news: products ordered via Uber Eats cost exactly the same as in traditional Biedronka brick-and-mortar stores. You don’t pay a premium for the convenience of home delivery.
Why did Biedronka make this move?
The answer is simple – Polish shopping habits are changing. Paweł Żelazko, digital projects manager at Biedronka, explains:
“We see a growing interest among Poles in the possibility of fast and convenient online grocery shopping. That’s why we want as many consumers as possible to benefit from this option through various distribution channels.”
Let’s be pragmatic – these companies see clear trends. Customers want not only the best prices, but above all convenience and time savings. City life is often dynamic and sometimes shopping in-store is a luxury that’s hard to afford.

Table: Biedronka and Uber Eats – Pros and Cons
| What do you gain? | What should you check? |
|---|---|
| Quick shopping without leaving home | Availability of the service in your area |
| Convenient way to make last-minute purchases | Delivery costs and additional fees |
| Less carrying and time savings | Product availability and substitutes |
| One app for food and shopping | Operating hours of the service |
For Uber, it’s business expansion
From Uber’s perspective, this partnership is a natural evolution. Krzysztof Witkowski, head of retail at Uber Eats Poland, emphasizes:
“The partnership with Biedronka is a response to the dynamic changes in Polish shopping habits.”
Uber Eats is a platform operating since 2014, aimed at delivering food and groceries. Expanding the service portfolio to include the Biedronka chain is a logical step toward dominating the delivery market in Poland.
Summary – what changes for you?
For an ordinary consumer, this is good news. You gain a new channel for quick purchases of basic groceries without having to leave home. Delivery within 30 minutes, in-store prices – sounds pretty good.
If you live in Warsaw, Krakow, or Poznań, you can already check if the service is available in your area. For others – sit tight, because Biedronka and Uber Eats plan to rapidly expand their offer across Poland.
